    Breer

    Breer🍺, a project team that upcyclies food waste. They collect uneaten bread and pizza crust from the chained shops and turn them into beers. Do you want to drink beers that taste good and do good? Come and give it a try!

    Mental Booth

    The champion of Enactus Regional Competition 2019 from HKUST, MentalBooth tried to build a stress-relief platform by setting up meditation booths with Virtual Reality meditation guide, background music and aroma. They have installed prototypes at HKUST as well as a co-working space with very positive feedback. After the competition, the team developed an upgraded prototype of their meditation booth and put it in “The Forest” shopping mall in Mongkok for a test run and invited the public to try their 8-minute guided meditation session.

    WECAREBILL

    The first runner-up of Enactus Regional Competition 2019 from CUHK, WeCareBill empowers patients about treatment options and costs. Through crowdsourcing of information on surgery and expensive drugs, the team built a database to help patients to navigate and to decide their treatments. It promotes the spirit of mutual help among patients, their family members as well as non-patients by sharing knowledge and experiences. The database continues to expand as is now a registered charity with more than 2,000 followers on Facebook.

    V’AIR

    V’air is a past project from Enactus CUHK which created a platform to promote low-carbon local travel. The project was reported on TV programs and news articles. Since the project started in 2016, it has evolved and transformed into an NGO. Apart from enriching its local green tourism database and organizing local eco-tours, V’air is expanding its scope to advocate sustainable lifestyle in other aspects, e.g. organizing green-themed functions such as eco-friendly lunar new year fair.

    DOSHA WOODCRAFT

    An upcycling project initiated by a team of product designers studying at THEi, DOSHA makes use of discarded pallets and fallen trees and turns them into stylish furniture and home accessories. Apart from running an online shop, the team also offers woodcraft workshops and operates a booth in Sai Kung every weekend. The team will be competing in the Enactus Regional Competition in 2020.

    BARTIK

    A project from Enactus HKUST, bARTik started in 2018 to help preserve traditional Buyi culture in Changshun, Guizhou province and to improve the living standard of women there. Buyi is one of the largest ethnic minority groups in Guizhou. Their traditional dyeing technique known as batik is slowly fading while people suffer from poverty and lack of employment. This project sources handicrafts such as scarves, wallets and bags from Buyi villages and pays a fair price directly to the producers. It is now a social enterprise selling those handicrafts in an online shop as well as pop-up markets/ fairs.

    Voice of History

    The second runner-up of Enactus Regional Competition 2019 from CUHK, Voice of History is a community project that aims to foster inter-generational harmony. Primary school students would collect oral history from senior residents and co-create a series of radio drama with them, featuring the stories of old Hong Kong. The team first produced radio drama in Shek Kip Mei, and through the arrangement of Enacuts, they also managed to implement the project in Sheung Wan.
